SHORT MOVIE CONTEST HOLEBIKORT

While organizing the festive edition of the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in 2010, there has been decided to promote the production of gay and lesbian short movies in Flanders and Brussels. To achieve this, a contest for short movies containing a gay or lesbian theme (even though it is not required to be the main theme) was created. De contest is for professional or amateur directors from Belgium or abroad.

During the first successful edition of 2010, there were more then 30 inscriptions. A professional jury and the people present at the festive opening evening made a selection out of these short movies :
first price : Hermanides for her short movie Suikertrip.
second price : Javier de la Torre for his short movie ¿Iguales?
third price : Ricardo Husson with his movie Medhi.

Since the enthusiasm of the organization and the public, a second edition was organized in 2011, with again a large number of inscriptions. In 2011 the following prices were handed out :
first price : Frederico Ariu with his Belgian production Hudûd.
second price : Kai Stanicke with his short movie Cold star.
third price : Anthony Schatteman and his short movie Als ik jou tegenkom, an other Belgian inscription.

EDITION 2012

After these two successful editions, is was evident to organize a third edition.

Participants have a chance that their short movie will be viewed by a large public during the opening evening or during the edition of de Gay and Lesbian Film Festival of Flemish Brabant 2012.
They also can win one of the following prices :
first price, price of the province of Flemish Brabant : 700 euro
second price, price of the city of Leuven : 500 euro
third price, price of 'Holebihuis Vlaams-Brabant' : 300 euro.
